Is it possible to sculpt your tum or bum with no exercise or effort? Notebook's beauty director Lynne Hyland trials the Emsculpt body toning machine - the new craze in body shaping.
Fancy a machine that’ll give you sculpted abs without you breaking a sweat?
Yes, me too - which is why my wobbly tum is about get pummelled by Emsculpt, a new muscle-toning sensation that’s the equivalent of doing 20,000 sit-ups in a 30-minute clinic session.
I’m at the smart London clinic of Dr Rita Rakus, an ambassador for this ‘game-changing’ professional body treatment.
Emsculpt uses high-intensity electromagnetic waves to work your muscles automatically while you lie back and do literally nothing.
It's non-invasive, doesn't bruise or hurt you, and there's no downtime at all.
The treatment has been approved by the FDA and claims to reduce the abdominal fat layer by 20% while increasing muscle by 18%.
‘Emsculpt fully activates your muscles in a way that exercise can’t, which is how it achieves such an effective toning result,’ Dr Rakus explains.
‘It also has a separate action that breaks down fat, so you will be able to really see the muscles it’s toned up.’
She tells me I’m a good candidate for Emsculpt because I’m not overweight but just have a bit of midriff podge (my words, not hers) that I’d like to slim and trim.
